Product Details

• Fabric: 100% premium USA cotton homespun fabric—woven, not printed—for authentic texture and country charm

• Construction: Single-layer, semi-sheer, and light-filtering

• Hems: Finished with 1-inch side and bottom hems

• Rod Pocket: 2 inches; fits a round curtain rod up to 1 inch in diameter

• Top Style: Choose a 1-inch header or a flat top with no header

• Lining: Not included; optional lining is available separately

• Custom Sizes: Width, length, rod pocket, and header sizes may be customized

Choosing Your Size

Length

Measure from the top of the curtain rod to where you would like the valance to end.

***Length is measured with the curtain lying flat, from the top of the rod pocket to the bottom edge. The 1-inch header is not included.

For a balanced appearance, a valance is commonly about one-fifth to one-fourth of the window’s total height.

Width

For attractive gathers, choose a valance about 1½ to 2 times the width of your curtain rod.

Example: A 40-inch curtain rod will generally need a valance measuring 60 to 80 inches wide.

When pairing a valance with café curtains, match the valance width to the combined width of both curtain panels.

Example: Pair one 60-inch-wide valance with two 30-inch-wide café curtain panels.

Rod Pocket Size

The standard 2-inch rod pocket fits a round curtain rod up to 1 inch in diameter.

For other rod sizes:

• Round rods: The rod pocket should be approximately twice the rod’s diameter.
  Example: A 1-inch round rod requires a 2-inch rod pocket.

• Flat continental rods: The rod pocket should be approximately ½ inch larger than the rod.
  Example: A 2½-inch flat rod requires a 3-inch rod pocket.

Care Instructions

For unlined curtains:

• Hand wash or machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle

• Tumble dry on low until slightly damp, or line dry

• Iron with medium heat and steam as needed
